Hi,
I am converting my 3rd Crystal report(CR) to COGNOS 8 using Report Studio. The CR report could list up to 30 errors per record read, one line per error. If the record did not have a specific error then that line would be hidden.
Here's what I done so far...
1. added a conditional block as my last column
2. renamed its heading to 'Error'
3. placed a 1 column by 30 row table into conditional block
4. inserted 30 different text items (errors) in the table
Examples: Missing SSN, Missing DOB, Incomplete Address
5. created 30 boolean variables
Here's where it go wrong...
I tried to hide the individual rows of the table if a record did NOT have the error. I can't seem to hide/condition an individual row of a table if its in a conditional block.
The other item that I am not sure of that even if I could hide it, is, would the row in the table rollup (dissappear) when hidden because I don't want to see empty rows as they'll look like empty lines in the output.
Has anyone does anything like this or am I still in CR writing mode and need to understand how to do this in Cognos.
TIA,
Rich
