Getting Increasingly Fed up with Microsoft on Visio2002

We paid the Demigods the full frieght for 5 copies of Visio2002, including SA. We originally had two copies of 2000 with no support.

My problems are this.

First, we used to be able to get the full range of vendor icons with Enterprise. Now, all we get with 2002Pro is the basics.

Also we lost Auto Discovery!!!

According to the Licensing Manager in the local Microsoft office, these features were no longer in demand and the functionality was removed. She said we could get it either by:

1) Keeping a copy of 2000 live. Unfortunately, you cannot pass drawings back and forth between the two versions unless you tell 2002 not to upgrade the drawing. That has a whole set of issues of its own....

2) Spending $500 to belong to the Network Center. Pretty expensive solution to obtain products no one wants, don't you think? You'd think they'd give it away in an SDK/RDK arrangement...

Is this yet another example of The Redmond Gods putting a bat up the ass of its customers or has anyone got another solution?
