Getting Image Properties in VB

Hi all,
I'm creating a program that will obtain image properties like pixels, DPI's, CMYK element, Lab color element among others. I have tried using Image Alchemy PS but Alchemy only returns pixels as one of the needed property information. Do u know of any programs or classes that may help me obtain these informations from images? Images may be anything from PDF's to JPEG's to BMP's. Thanks in advance.

Not pdf, but Wang/Kodak image edit control will return some of what you want. They come with the win9x to win2k OS's but not .NET. You can also get more info directly from a picture box, but once again not PDF unless you extract the image.

Thanks for the tip. I was able to get the pixel and image format from Alchemy, and the resolution from Wang's. But my application still needs to check that the image does not have CMYK element and lab color element. I am unsure how to extract this information from my image ...
