Getting HyperTerminal to pick up a phone call

I am hearing impaired and make my phone calls through HyperTerminal on my computer (winXP).

Making phone calls is pretty straight forward but I cna't seem to pick up a call -- I used the "Wait for call" command with no success.

My modem is Generic SoftK56.
