Hi,

I'm getting very frustrated tryung to remember how to do something in CD! I'm sure it will be simple, and I'm just forgetting something obvious.

Basically, I want to make a VERY bold version of a word. It's in a truetype font, but the font doesn't have a bold version. I was thinking I could use a bold, then convert to bitmap and emboss it.

I've been mucking around with converting to Bitmap, then using filters, converting to curves, etc. But I'm getting nowhere except wasting time - please help!!!
Thanks.

Adding an outline or contour will make your letter bolder but depending on font may spoil the letter shape, put that into Photo Paint for special effects OR convert a letter to curves - manipulate the nodes to get the shape you want - export that as TTF or PFB to create your own font OR (and this may be more reliable) make a copy of the base font and rename it - bring in a letter at 720 point - manipulate nodes etc - export letter to overwrite original letter of renamed font. I say 720 point but this may need some tweaking.
