Getting Filtered Items to Show on Final Report

Am currently using Cognos 8 v8.3

How do I go about getting what I've filtered to show on the returned report.

Currently in Report Studio, I've a prompt which allows the user to input whatever date/date ranges they wish to run. When the report returns, it doesn't show the date/date range that was chosen.

THe idea is that the data query has filters that refer to the parameter associated with the prompt,like:

[dataquery].[date] between ?date1? and ?date2?

where ?date1? and ?date2? are the parameters associated with dateprompt 1 and dateprompt 2

Thanks for the help, however found the answer I was looking for.

Solution was:
ParamdisplayValue('Date')

Which shows up on in a text box within a block object as:
<%ParamDisply...%>
