I am using Acrobat 5. Two ways I can see solving this, but don't see how to do either one...
Problem: I have a Word document (not allowed to alter) that has been converted to PDF and I am adding fields to it. Several sections are entry areas where multiple lines are given to provide answer like so...

I want to add a text form field over the multiple lines but none of the text options I try will align the text to the lines, at some point, the text entered is shifted down and crosses the lines.
So, is there a line size option that I am missing that will allow me to adjust more finely the spacing between lines entered in a multi-line field?
Another possible solution (but again, don't know how to do) is I could give the field a white background color, essentially blocking out the lines behind. The problem with that is that if someone prints out the form intending to fill it out by hand, the lines are gone for them. So...might there be a way to create a field that ONLY prints when there is data entered in it? That way, if the user prints out the form without filling it out, the white-background field would not print and the lines would be there and if the user DOES enter info in the field, the white background makes the already-present lines immaterial.
Thank you so much. I hope one of these options are available to me, or someone else has a different solution. thanks again!
