Getting errors on an HP Laserjet

Actually.....yeah.. Is that what's causing the problem ?

I believe so. I have a client using an older HP JetDirect 500X 3-port external print server to connect a Panasonic laser printer and an Epson dot matrix printer to their network. I installed GoToMyPC on a WinXP box that I was using to share those printers to some older Win98 SE boxes. At first I didn't have any problems, but shortly after their internet connection went down, I started getting the "get line of text printing out from both printers every few minutes. I searched all over the Internet for other occurences of this problem and only found your message, so I started tinkering. Once I uninstalled GoToMyPC, the problem stopped.

I'd contact GoToMyPC's support people and find out if they know if the problem and whether or not there is a fix (updated client, etc.) You may try updating the JetDirect's firmware , as well.

Thanks. I really appreciate it. That sounds like it may be a plausable explanation since the problem never occured prior to installing go to my PC.

Experienced the same problem. Two printers connected via LAN to HP JetDirect 170X printservers. After each print job, line after line would print - either as one line per page on a Color LaserJet 5M, or as multiple lines waiting for an end of page on the HP DJ 1120C. ( GET HTTP/ .... ) What I couldn't see was the end of this text string: ERCBroker broker
I removed the GoToMyPC Host from the computer and the problem was resolved.

I am using GoToMyPC on my base machine with a network and three printers hanging off various NON-HP print servers and have not experienced any similar problems. However, the mix of the HP JetDirect with the GoToMyPC Host is real trouble.

Yep - there's been no reoccurence of the problem at the client's office since I removed the GoToMyPC software. Has anyone contact GoToMyPC and checked to see if this is a known issue?

indicates you might want to look at another product.
