help! trying to put in an overall aggerate function in the footer of my report but they alway give the response.
i'm using a text box but changing the control source to something like =Count([OrderID])

Hi Louise,

You can't put a function in a page/report footer. This may be your problem. Two work arounds:

1. Put the calculated control in a Group Footer. You may need to create a dummy variable (eg x:1 in the query so you can group and sort on the new variable "x" - then create a footer for x and put the calculated control there) or

2. Create a new control in the body of the report called "Runsum" and set its Runsum value to "Over Group" or "Over All". Then set your page footer control to "=[Runsum]". Theres a fair bit of info on this in the Access on-line help.

Good luck.

Is [OrderID] a control in your report or just a field in the data source of the report?

If {OrderID] is not a control in your report. Try adding it into the report and make it invisible. This might solve your problem.
