Getting error message: Could Not Start SMS_SITE_BACKUP on Local Comput

Can anyone help with this error. Our site stopped backing up the other day. When I go and start the SMS_SITE BACKUP service I receive the following message:

"Could Not Start SMS_SITE_BACKUP on Local Computer.
Error 1053: Service did not respond to the start or a control request in a timely fashion."

It's probably a issue with permissions (what permission was employed when service was invoked). This may help out:
