getting dump off of tape?

Hello.

Normally I do ufsdumps to tape, then when I need a file i just rewind the device to the appropriate point and do a ufsrestore pointing to the tape device file.

How can I copy the .dmp file off of the tape, would I use dd to do that?, or is there a better tool.
