I've got a Lacie external hard drive and I'm trying to figure out what the manufacturer, part number (P/N), and firmware of the hard drive inside the Lacie. Is there a utility or terminal command I can used to give me the manufacturer, Part number (P/N), firmware, etc. of the lacie drive?

I've tried the Disk Utility and it will tell me the manufacturer of disks inside the computer but not in the lacie enclosure.

Thanks in Advance.

Open system profiler (applications > utilities) in there you can expand USB and see the details of the drive attached (or firewire if it's connected to that)

When I was born I was so suprised I didn't talk for 18 months

You can open system profiler buy going to Apple menu/About this mac. Then click the More Info button.

Using OSX 10.3.9 & 10.4.11 on a G4, G5 & Intel Macbook
