Getting different totals when exporting and cycling through a table

Hi there,
I am trying to back up a table in Advantage 4.2 by using the xAPI code I developped (posted under ACCPAC Macro/VBA (

I changed the views to correspond with the tables for this version of accpac. By using the fetch command, I get a total of 8600 records, but when I export the table from within Accpac, I get 8713 records... Anyone care to guess why there is such a descrepency?

As far as your issue is concerned. Accpac export is probably looking at more tables that you have accessed. Therefore it may find more records. Accpac tends to export everything that is related to what you are exporting. With code we tend to pull/export only what we really need or think we need.

You will find lots of such issues when working with Accpac. Some serious, some not. I only wish there was some good documentaion of the accpac xAPI and COMAPI. Let me know if you find any.
