I need to get the detail behind the summary totals on a report--basically I need to get names for people who live in the top 15 cities (top 15 according to our database--15 cities with the highest concentrations of our members). I am able to get the report to list only the top 15 cities and their member totals, but I can't figure out how to get the detail...I used the visible property for the summary totals based on a recordcount field, but I can't do that with the detail because the summary number is not summarized yet.....?? confused?

thanks! Excuse my confusion....it's only temporary......

Hi,
The secret lies with your "field list", which you can find by clicking the View menu item, then selecting "field list". Any item in the "field list" can be placed in the detail section of the report.
Another possibility is that your report is based on a "summary" query, which will not show any of the detail you desire. A "summary" query is created by clicking the greek "E" in the middle of the query screen. If you have a summary query, simply save it under a different name, then click the summary symbol to unselect it. You can use the new query as the recordsource of your report, or create a new report that may indicate it displays detail data.
