getting data in XML format from SQL 2000 and displaying on .asp page

Does anyone know where I could find a good example of retrieving data from a SQL 2000 database in XML format and then displaying it on an .asp page? I understand the SQL Select statement syntax with the FOR XML clause, but I need to understand how to code on the .asp page for accessing this data and displaying it.

I would probably use the XMLDOM to parse the XML, or else use an XSL stylesheet to convert the XML for display.
