Getting around document passwords...

I have a user who is no longer employed with our company and he password protected several important documents. Any advice on how to get past them? This is very important.

I assume that the ex-employee was not forthcoming with the passwords. There are several sites on the internet that provide this service. Just search for Word or Excel Passwords. I am not sure how much they cost, but the technology is out there.

Your suggestion did the trick. The demo version will crack passwords 3 characters or less and that just happened to be the case. You were a big help! Thank you,
