Hello, I am working on a new report which has the item number, description, manufacturer number and cost. I am having a severe problem trying to find the right database to pull a total quantity from. I have gotten all my other info from ITEMLOC, ITEMMAST. Can anyone give me a hint? Or am I just not seeing an easy solution. Whenever I do find a database that I think is correct and pull it into the report it either shows no records or it gives me an ODBC error.
Thanks

I'd check with your dba or Vendor supplying the database, or if you have a standard software package, reference what it is.

I think I understand your Q cause I had a similar problem . Try to loo for a field in your sales order or Inventory table. Maybe the filed is called Qty Shipped Qty ordered.
Thats where I found my field

In our db some of the totals which show on the screen are calculated and do not reside on a table. For example, in our Part Maintenance screen there is Unit Material Cost, Unit Labor Cost, Unit Burden Cost, Unit Service Cost and Total. While you can see Total on the screen, it is not stored on any table. In Crystal we created a formula to add Material, Labor, Service and Burden.

Do you have a Data Dictionary you can reference?

Sounds like youll need to Admin who loaded your accounting software. We run MAS90 and I spoke with the Admin to find out what tables held what fields. Not sure if thats an option for you. Your actual costs or totals wont be stored in a table since its based on user input and changes dynamically. If you know whre the field your looking for is (Item Qty) all you need to do is use either a count or sum formula for that field
