As your intranet probably has an internal IP address, you'll have to obtain an outside address and map it to the internal number. Authentication and encryption should also be considered, as you probably only want internal users to access this site. A SecureID token-card solution would provide the authentication and an SSL certificate (which you can obtain from Verisign) would give you the encryption.
ToCondo: I appreciate your comment, but you don't really explain how to "map" the ext IP to the int IP. Would you like to expound a little bit more about it? We would also like to do the same thing. Thank you.
The IP mapping is handled by the firewall. The firewall will have a rule that directs traffic from the outside address 123.4.5.6 to 222.3.4.5, which is an address in the DMZ. Traffic in the DMZ can then be routed to the internal number 20.1.2.3, which in your case would be your intranet server.
