Hi
I am using remote desktop (win7 ultimate) with a win 2003 server.
I am able to log on and doa anything on the server.
However I want the db to open once the user has logged onto the server.
In the programs tab on remote server i have put in the path;
c:\DbSouth\Integritydb_2009.mdb
and for the 'start in following folder; c:\DbSouth
but all I get is the message, error 93 inital programs can not be started in c:\DbSouth\Integritydb_2009.mdb
Have checked all the settings, but can not find why it will not open the database.
Any ideas would be welcome.

Is Access installed on the server?

Hi RuralGuy,
Thanks for your reply.
Yes access is installed. The db opens quite normally as well

Can you manually change to the c:\DbSouth directory on the server and launch the Integritydb_2009.mdb

Hi RuralGuy,
If I log on to the server thu remote access, I can put a shortcut onto the server desktop and no problems at all. The Db opens normally. I can manually start ot fro mthe folder a well. So thats not a problem as i see it.
Its just when I want the db to open when the user logs onto the sever.
Its just. that I can not get it to open when the paths are put into the remote tab. I wonder if its a problem with the remote desktop?
I jsu dont know. I have tried all sorts of things, read forums, but cannot find this issue anywhere!

So you want the MDB to launch when the user logs onto the server with RDP? Is that correct?

Hi PHV,
Thanks, PHV, I have just tried that setting the path to ms office,
I used this, c:\microsoft office\office10\msaccess.exe
in the program & path filename,of the remote desktop but it still comes up with the same error.
I am wondering if I have the server set up right. I am, a CNE,(Novell) but even all my skills have come to nought.
As fare a microsoft data sheet go, I have done all that is required.

Did you put the path inside double quotes ?

Hope This Helps, PH.

Hi PHV
Thank you for help. I just got your message. So I put in
"c:\microsoft office\office10\msaccess.exe"
But it still comes up with that error;

error 93 inital programs can not be started in "c:\microsoft office\office10\msaccess.exe"

Many thanks
