I have just taken receipt of Sun Solaris e250.
Basically I need to get it onto my network.
Will I need to give it a new ip address if so how do I do this.
Are there any other steps I will need to take ?
Thanks in advance.

You will need to gove the server an ip address and hostname
This is normally done at OS install time, but can be done later with the ifconfig command.
See the man page on ifconfig

In your shoes, sirrom, I'd do a sys-unconfig. This will wipe out all the network settings and prompt you for new ones. The advantage to this is ensuring that all the related files will be updated. You can edit each file by hand but it's easy to miss one or two.
Hope this helps!
