Getting a parameter from child window to the parent browser window

Dear All,

i have an applet button running in a browser window, on clicking this an HTML page in a NEW BROWSER window is opening, i want to get a parameter value from the the new HTML page to the applet or to the applet browser.

that is:-
Here the applet window and the NEW HTML window are having a parent-child like relationship. so the question is how to get a parameter value of the child window to the parent window.
