Getting 10038 Socket operation on non-socket

I have found two other messages on this topic but the solutions did not help.

I am trying to connect to my server which is a Dynamic DNS environment. It runs TZO. My client PC can log in and be accepted but when it attempts to LIST the directory, it gets two messages:
"Opening binary data connection"
"File Transfer Aborted. [10038] Socket operation on non-socket"

Can anyone suggest a remedy?
