Hey, Just wondering how I can get the objID of a folder. I'm supplying a folder name via html form however, I want livelink to return a objID of that folder so I can see the contents in the folder. I'm strictly using html. IF there is another way of doing this please let me know. THanks

I am not sure I understand this qn.Are you using search to find a named folder in livelink? If so if you output the results as xml then your objid is there in the ensuing xml document.Cheq the FAQ section of this site where one person has written that for you.
If you are using a livereport such as this then one could write a query that goes something like this as well.

select dataid, name, subtype from dtree where name like 'Whatever the folder name you are trying to find'

Well, if I called the wrong number, why did you answer the phone?

In the form you type in a named folder. Then when you click out onmouseout() or click a button onclick() for example I want livelink to return the namedfolders objid.

there are a few issues around this including :

1/ Security - who are you logging into Livelink as to do the search ?
2/ Matching - Livelink allows the same name to be reused as many times as you want to for an object, so a search for "Folder 123" may return many matches.
3/ Why are you not doing this in Livelink with WebLingo/Oscript or a separate Web App using LAPI/WebServices ?
