I have windows 98 on 60 gig hard drive and all is well there,
(aside from some yellow warning thingies about hard drive not working properly) but I also have a 160 gig hard drive with free BSD and linux that I would like the Windows to completely ignore or not even know about. The problem is that windows 98 can not see past the 160 drive to my dvd drive and cd burner.

Sounds more like you have little yellow thingies with your hard drive controllers.
Time to try reloading the IDE motherboard drivers from the CD that came with the M/B.

No No My Drivers mother board drivers are OK. My understanding is that windows 98 CAN NOT handle 160 gig drives. And this is OK for me if I could somehow edit the registry or something so that window just completely ignores my 160 gig hard drive.

I'm not too sure how to do that, but is it causing you any problems?

Windows 98 should show it to be the maximum size that it will support and ignore the rest

OK this is what I did. I disconnected the 160 gig problem drive and reinstalled Windows 98. This wiped out my LILO but using loadlin I got back into linux and reinstalled LILO. I then reconnected the 160 gig drive, and for some reason Windows 98 now ignores it, which is logical since there are no partions on the 160 gig drive that are readable by Windows. Why this did not happen in the first place I do not know.
