Get UserID of currently logged user

you do know the membership provider is just a respository/fascade to a persistent storage. This will make a remove call (out of process) to the storage, no matter what type of storage it is.

Not sure the internal workings of the membership provider (so it might already do this), but upon login you could save your userId to a Session. Then you could just retrieve it from that whenever you want.
