Get rid of drop down arrow in lookup

Hello,

I create a simple lookup value for 12 different drugs that are layed out across the form page. Without the lookup which puts in a drop-down arrow to the right of the cell, everything fit nicely on 1 page. But with the lookup, each cell got wider because of the lookup arrow.

How can I get rid of the lookup arrow while still being able to look up the drop down values. Can't the lookup values "Float?" Or can't I map the lookup value to a function key?

I need to get rid of that drop-down arrow because it takes up needed spacing. This is also reflected on the Reports. All the fields are wider and spilling everything over. Is it possible anyone?

You can't get rid of the arrow, but you can cheat;-)

There was a thread quite recently on this, let me see, entering the search facility, entering keywords.... oh yeah - have a look here thread702-1069454...;-)

But[ol][li]it won't give you any more space (unless you do some programattic changes of the size of each control - doable... but is it worth it? I'd much rather reduce the font size, change font... in stead of bothering with calcualation of control width, but that's my lazy preference...)[/li]

ouch you aren't, are you, surely you are not, but are you... The Evils of Lookup Fields in Tables - if you are, consider getting rid of them as soon as possible, cause they are going to casue headaches...[/li][/ol]

....oh - btw the alternative of table level lookups, is using combos on the form...
