Have a client with a Merlin Messaging and they have some voicemails they would like to use in a court case. Is there any way to pull these message from the voicemail system besides playing them and recording them on an external device?

You can make a .wav file of them, but it's tricky and takes a little practice.

You need to have access to an AVAYA Communication Manager PBX with Intuity Audix and Message MANAGER loaded on a lap top computer. From the AVAYA CM call into the Merlin Messaging like your going to listen to them, mute your phone and just as your about to listen to the message hit the "Record a Call" button which records the original message into a mailbox in the INTUITY. Then open Message Manager on the laptop, log into that mailbox, convert the message to a .wav file. Once that's done you can put it on a disk, thumb drive of email it to someone..

Hope that helps.

Merlin messaging has a unified messaging component where a wav file can be saved.

It would be easier to simply bring in a recorder and record from the phone handset or speaker phone.

and not every court will actually allow .wav files as they can be tampered with easily. Make sure that this is allowed before you do all the work.
I know that some lawyer would try and rip that file apart as evidence due to the nature of the recording.

You could also try and access the file remotely from the court room then you don't need to move it and maybe it helps the credibility of the recording if you state that the file cannot be taken off and the original has to be listened to including the time stamp.

Interrupt the silence only if you improve it by saying something, otherwise be quiet and everybody will be grateful.

Completed a backup via the messaging software.
Is there a way to listen to what you have backed-up to this or is it just a save and upload situation only?

no listening i am afraid.

if you have a different system then you could dial in and remotely listen to your messages and do a call recording from that system if you can get those via email that would be perfect then.
Maybe you know someone with an IP Office system with Vm Pro attached then you are golden.

“Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.”

I'll have to use and IP Office with VM Pro or an audix with Message Manager to pull things out as a wave file or something to listen to.
No listening to the messages when you save the voicemail to the administrator program. :(

Thanks for all the help!
