Get External Data on Access File Menu

Get External Data option on Access File Menu not available?

Can anyone advise as to why I have not got the above option on my Access97 File menu. I don't remember being asked the question about this feature when install
Do I have to remove Access completely and re-install it to access this option.

I believe access 97 uses 'File' - 'Import' (file menu) to import tables, queries, etc.; then use file type dropdown to select CVS, excel, Dbase, ODBC, etc..

The context menu (right click) while viewing tables displays "Link" and "Import"; then use file type dropdown to select CVS, excel, Dbase, ODBC, etc..

'Import' is 'Get external data'. Semantics changed with new versions.
