Get data from database

I have an application in Asp.net 2.0. I want to go to an SQL Server database and get information based on a key field on page that the user typed in and populate other fields.

So if they type in customer number, I want to fill in customer name and address.

Are there examples of this I can find?

Thanks for the speedy reply. I had already looked into the AJAX update panel.

The actual controls that I want to populate are numerous and located all over the page for grouping purposes so I didn't see how I was going to get them all in the same update panel. Any advice on that?

Yes. Search for an ASP forum... Sorry, I only do AJAX "by hand", I have no idea from where you should drag & drop it in that Lego system.
