Hi,
We have a setup were we call a datastage workflow from a unix-script.(trough dsjob)
This script is followed by operators without acces to datastge director. So we would like to dump the log from datastage to a textfile.

If we know the jobname this can also be done trough dsjob, but I would like to set up something generic, that first looks at all jobs in the workflow and then dumps all warnings/fatal from all these jobs to one log.

Any ideas?

We put all jobs belonging to the same workflow into a single Category folder within the DataStage repository. We then use the ETLSTATS package to generate operational metadata on that folder after the workflow has been run. This is a set of passive metadata collection jobs that retrieve stats such as job status and row counts and delivers them to database tables for reporting. You can find ETLSTATS at the web site. Have a look at the FAQ on DataStage reporting options.
