Get a new line when writing to text files

I know I am posting alot, but I think this is my last problem for now.

I have tried \n but it dont work, any suggestions??
 
\r\n

Windows uses carrige return (\r) line feed (\n) as a line break, where Unix based machines use only line feed (\n). That is why when you ftp a DOS file to a Unix box you see a ^M at the end of every line, Unix shows the carrige return as the character ^M.
