GENTRAN Server 5.2 - Email Copy of EDI

We have a need to send an email copy (in addition to the EDI document). I'd like to get some feedback from anyone that has done this and what is the best method in GENTRAN Server 5.2?

I have seen some discussion about using an Active X control to handle this, but don't want to recreate a wheel if it's better to just create a second map for the email message.
