I deleted some old files from the Store directory in Gentran. Now we are having an issue where we can not send or receive emails through our mailboxes in Gentran. The error message in the gateway is AtmOpenStream failed with code: 35.

Sterling Support's solution is to restore the files but it is becoming a long process because we do not have a backup. While we are recreating the files we would like to find another solution to get our 850's and 810's out and in the door. Does anyone out there have any suggestions on emailing our 850's without using the Gentran Gateway?

You made a BIG BOO-BOO by deleting files from the Store directory. The store directory is the backbone of the Gentran:Server communications sub-system. I thought there was a way to recover from such a thing. I think it involved removing the Application mailbox from the subsystem then stopping the services and re-starting them. This would re-create the application mailbox and it should bring the rest of then sub-system inline. You will have to re-associate all of the mailboxes in the mailboxing sub-system to the Gentran:Application mailbox. PLEASE RUN THIS BY SUPPORT BEFORE TRYING THIS.

You will need to delete and recreate all your comms and file system mailboxes. Take some screen dumps of the mailbox set ups before you delete them. I agree with RonProcak that you should run this past Sterlings support before you do anything. I'm sure you are not the first to do this! Good Luck.

Hugh.
