This error loading device5 is stopping the service from loading on startup. It may be related to SOCKETS in the comms gateway??? I am not sure exactly what role SOCKETS plays or what caused it to appear.

I would be gratefull for any help in this matter as our production server does not currently come up properly.

I have exactly the same error. Using Gentran: Server 3.0.1 with windows 2000. Did you find a solution to correct your problem ???

thank

Hi,

We have the same problem with Gentran version 3.2 in Windows 2000. Did you get a solution to this?

Can you please forward your reply to fluit@bcgas.com ?

Thanks,
Frans Luit

Looks to be TAPI related. Could it be that the TAPI32.LIB file is not the correct version?

I just spoke with GENTRAN software support. Apparently as your system boots GENTRAN verifies all devices and check compatibility, even on devices that it will not be using. In my case, I receive this error on a device that GENTRAN will not be using, but insists on checking. The person at Gentran support explained that this is a perfectly normal - well, expected - error for anyone running Windows 2000. It can/should be ignored unless the device is one you use. Also, this is NOT normal for Windows NT users - you should contact your support personel if this happens on a WINNT system.
:)
