have been thinking that it might be smart to take our home page and move
it to a non-SS site.

Why? Well we get people trying to scam into our site, at one point 120
requests came in for our front page in less than 10 minutes. With the home
page creating a new session and have access our database and having this
happen during moderate times (not peak, but busy) we went from 80 active
sessions to over 200 and things got slow. In fact at times we run out of
memory for SS due the above issue. We are working on making the firewall be
smart enough to prevent that, but I was wondering what I could do from the
SilverStream side.

Since these requests just hit the home page I was trying to figure out how
to split the home page off so it was a pure static page that didn't create a
session or access the database in any manner. Can SilverStream do that, or
do I need to have the user go to IIS and then redirect them to SS one
they've click on correct link that tells us they really want to use the
site?

Any help/thoughts would be appreciated.
