NT 4.0 Server detects the GE2500iii network adapter (as Realtek 8029, which it is) at NT installation and I install the driver. At each subsequent start-up, however, the card is not found. I've tried installing updated drivers, moving the card to another PCI slot, deleting its entries in the registry and reinstalling the driver, and even reinstalling NT. Same thing happens. <br>

Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I have used the 8029's for my home lan because of the price. NT does a good job of seeing them (If there is only one) if you have more than one, you have to enter each card's mac addr. during setup (Or update driver) - I have had one of these cards (PCI) go bad. It did the same thing yours is doing. I had finally resolved to try another card. NT picked it up and I saw the network. Since you know what you're doing, and the cards generally work well under NT; I'd say have faith in your own judgement and replace the nic with a new one.
