Hi,

I am trying to compile a list of metrics that should be monitored for different types of server configuration. eg A standard Windows 2000 server, Domain Controller, SQL Server, Exchange etc

So that when a request is made to monitor a server a standard config can be loaded to that type of machine and then fine tune the metrics for the individual server.

Is there a document out there that covers a comprehensive list of metrics to be monitored?

At this point I do not wish to re-invent the wheel,
Any help is most gratefully recieved.

Hello, at a moment CA not publish the document what You want. I think.

The metrics you need to monitor can be different according the resources.

The simply way to learn about the metrics is isntalling the performance manager and see the metrics available to monitor. Using the help and a right click mouse is the way to discover the resources and a explanation of each one.
