Generic Print Driver

I am trying to print from a Windows client to a Datamax Prodigy thermal transfer printer. The printer requires control characters in order to generate the label (using Datamax's proprietary commands.

I have been trying to use the Generic / Text printer in windows but it does not print true generic text. Are there any utilities or print drivers that exist to let the text pass straight through to the printer?

Any help is greatly appreaciated!
