Is it possible to link generic IP phone on a BCM450 or 50 R6 like a softphone, polycom, grandstream...

There is a menu called Other SIP Sets in the element manager une telephony ressource.... Can these be part of the IP Sets license or do I need to buy any other licenses...

Thanks,

- Stef

I came across this with my BCM50 and I was told by an Avaya engineer it was something that was Beta for the Nortel engineers to use but was removed because of the upgrade to IP Office. So as far as I know, you can't. I'd love to use my 1140E's in SIP mode on my BCM 50 6.0, but its not possible. If anyone else knows of anything different, please post it here.

I was under the impression is was only used when running in SRG mode and Nortel IP sets were running SIP to CS1K.

BCM does not directly support SIP sets so you can only use phones from Avfaya.

IP Office does directly support 3rd party SIP sets although you are best to only deploy sets which have gone through DevConnect testing to be confirmed as working.
