Hello all,

I'm working on a project that requires I be able to print out letters and memos with dynamic pieces (like date of letter, who it was sent to, etc.)

I was wondering what our thoughts are on how to do this. Would it be best to try and do the letters in Access as a report or maybe try to do them in Word and have Access open the document?

Anybody have a really good method of doing this?

Thanks...

It really depends on your data.....Access reports will work great for you if you can set up the data into tables and use the as the basis for your reports. If on the other hands the data is not to regular, meaning every report or letter has completely different formats and the like, then perhaps Word might be better. Ultimately it comes down to your knowledge with each application and how you can apply that against the data.

For example, I use an Access database with reports to generate invoices numbers several hundred at a time. All the customer information and invoice details are stroed in a couple of tables becuase the data is very similar. The reports use these tables to generate each invoice in turn.

So, simply restated, pick what you know and what will work best for your situation...only you can ultimately decide which may work better. Good Luck and we'll be seeing a lot of you soon...
