We are going to be using a third party recording service that requires us to conference in an outside phone number to a call originating from a Norstar MICS R1T1. The third party service requires DTMF tones to start and end the recording function and move onto the next question. Once we initiate the conference call, the Norstar ceases generating the DTMF tones. Does anyone know of a solution or a program setting that can be adjusted so that the Norstar continues to generate the tones, even on a conference call? The only alternative that I have been able to come up with is to use ATA's with analog telephone sets. Any suggestions would be sincerely appreciated.

AAP,
Norstar KSUs will produce DTMF while on any call. Often enough with an old KSU such as an R1T1, there may be a bad DTMF reciever in the unit. Try using F808 - long tones.

I have tried the long tones (F808) and the system comes back with "Tones Denied". I only have this problem during Three Way Conference Calls. If I only have one other party on the line, it seems to work fine. Any additional feedback is appreciated.

AAP,
Is the phenomenum limmited to just one set?

PhM

No, problem happens on all sets. Also tested on a 3x8 with DR5 software, and it will not generate the tones while on a conference call either.
