I'm trying to use Crystal Reports 9.2 to generate a report for contact1.dbf within Goldmine version 6.

To access the contact1.dbf in Crystal Reports, I went to Database Expert and selected the Access/Excel option under "Create a New Connection". Then I chose the contact1.dbf file from the appropriate directory and added the fields to the report.

Afterwards, I opened up the corresponding Contact Set Database in Goldmine. I then went to the Report Menu, selected "Contact Reports" under Reports Categories and selected Crystal Reports in the Type drop down box. Then I selected the Crystal Report file with the Properties button. After selecting the Print button, I received the following message: "An unsupported table is used in the report".

Does someone have insight to the cause of this problem?

Hi

I've not used Crystal 9.x before, but in Crystal 8.5 to use a dBase file in a report you expand the Database Files branch and then select Find Database File and browse for the dbf files in the Data Explorer.

So I am not sure if Crystal have changed things with the new version.

Ksanim,

Your going to have problems with Crystal 9 as it insists on putting the links in for you ie contact1->accountno to contsupp->accountno unfortunately these links arent all correct so you'll most like end up with unreliable data presentations.....

Richard.

Rob and Richard,

It's possible to access .dbf file is Crystal the way I mentioned above. However, I end up receiving an error message of an "unsupported table". I then tried accessing the dBase files by expanding the Database Files branch and selecting it. However, I got the following message:

"Query Engine Error: No database .dll specified "

Any ideas?
