Is there a way to generate an index without having to go through and add in each word manually?

Also Anyone have any suggestions as to the best way to make up an index?

I mean like what words do I want to put in there for the index, and is there any limit to the length of the index item.

Should they be kept to 1 or 2 words or could they be bigger... (I mean I know they could be, but I'm asking more for the end user's view?)

Thanks in Advance,

TC

You can create an index easily, but it is too much to write down here.
In short: open the index-window under menu/windows/text&tables.
You can select 1 word in your document, then click "add all", and all similar words in the document will be "tagged". When you then generate the index, the word will have references to all the pages that it appears.
When pages are chged, generate again, and the index will be updated.
Use the Help function to learn more details.
