Generate a report after a <cfselect> option is passed

I'd like to take a value that has been passed to a template, and generate a report with other dynamic values based on the initial value selected.

Example:

An option of "XXXXX" is selected from a list box, and submitted. There is additional data associated with "XXXXX" that I'd like to display, but I don't know how to display those addional values associated with "XXXXX".

It's hard to explain, but if you have an idea what I mean, I'd really appreciate your help.

I'm not sure I understand the Question but I'll take a stab at it.
Is it possible to Query your database for more information based on the selection.
Or is this more of a mathematical evaluation that needs to take place?
