General SQL Server error: Check messages from SQL Server

I wrote a report against database A, and am now trying to run it against database B, which is simply a new instance of the same structure.
I have used Location Manager to make sure I am pointing to the new location.
2 questions: how do I check messages from Sql Server?
How do I find all refs in the .rpt to the oold database?
