This is the second time to send this message. I cannot seem to locate my first attempt that I sent out yesterday. If this is not the proper forum to make this request then let me know.

I am attempting to develop a Crystal Report that links to a stored procedure instead of a database table. Based on literature that I have read, it should be as easy as linking the report to the stored procedure as preferred to database tables.

Once you link the report to the stored procedure what is the next step. I have developed a report that links to a stored procedure that retrieves the most current edit date from a database table. I have attempted to insert the results of the stored procedure into the report similar to how you would insert a field from a database table. Unfortunately, Crystal does not allow you do this.

Any assistence would be greatly appreciated.

Crystal does allow you to insert columns identically to a table.

There are certain conditions which must be met for SP's, I suggest that on your next post you supply critical information, such as the version of Crystal, Type and version of the database, and if you're doing this within Crystal or using an external program.

Here's the Oracle whitepaper, which is generally the most problematic:

Hope this helps.
