Is there anyway to completly disable the General Delivery Mailbox on a BCM 5.0? We went into VM Programming - Feature 983 and hit 6 once in there and changed it to Gen Delivery: N. But if you call into the AA and hit Mailbox 100, you still get the GD Mailbox.

When you answer no to Gen Delivery Mailbox Your telling the system not to allow anyoine to leave messages in that mailbox. So in essence you have disabled the mailbox.

Another note make sure that there is no outdial permitted so if someone wants to login and try to hack calls off they won't be able to.

But why does it still go to the Mailbox if I dial 100 off the AA?

I will presume that to Nortel this is a default mailbox it cannot be deleted I believe therefore it just boils down to lazy programmers. Their slant is OK you can login but you cannot do anything no messages can be left and you cannot dial out either . Why fix what isn't broke.

Make sure to not assign an extension to it put it back to ext. 100 on MB 100.
