Hello,

Recently we installed Exchange 2000. At client side i just installed Exchange and Address book service. Users retreive mails with no problems but i am afraid i am doing something wrong here. Do i have to install Personal Folder & Internet Mail servivce too to download mail locally? or Is not neccessary... Which is the better route Setting up on client side? and difference
THankyou in advance.

Hi.

For contacting Exchange server, you don't need personal folders nor internet mail. These are normaly used with stand-alone clients like home computers.

One of the important things with Exchange clients is name resolution.
You may need to implement DNS/HOSTS/WINS/LMHOSTS in the client and whole network.
If your client takes a long time to start (about 10-30 sec) it is many times caused by name resolution problems.

Bye
