It is with regret that I write to inform you that my father, GEMS, a regular contributor to this site has passed away. Many of you will know through his replies and FAQ's that he made no secret of the fact that he was terminally ill with cancer. He was light hearted to the end of his tough battle, still managing to raise a smile and log onto the net whenever there was an NHS phone socket within reach of his laptop!
On behalf of my mother, Maggie, and the rest of the family I would like to thankyou all out there, as my dad had something in this site to keep his mind active and it brightened up many a long day for him.
Special thanks to all those who e-mailed him as well, again this kept him active and helped him a great deal.
Unfortunately, I followed an industrial computing career path, and whilst being a programmer, my field is industrial control and so I'm not much use to any of you in carrying on my father's interests!
It took us a while to get into Dad's PC and find this site that he talked so fondly of, but we've kept his e-mail address up and running for those of you that have it, in case you want to pass any messages on to Mum or the family.
Alternatively you could pass them to me at
daz_mac@talk21.com
Regards,
Dazmac
