Do a right click on the desktop and go down to properties and click on the button. In the display properties window click on settings. In the settings window click on the advanced button. In the video card properties window click on the adapter tab. In the adapter window click on the change button and then select standard VGA for the video card and let the operating system reboot. After the system has rebooted as VGA 16 colors you can try reinstalling the video card drivers, or the best bet is to log on to the Microsoft updates website and do a search for updates. Microsoft’s driver database is so huge I’ll bet you they will have a driver for the card that will work.

The problem you are experiencing is not all that uncommon. Due to variables-many different mother board and video card chipsets you can have chipset, and other conflicts. It is also common to encounter poorly written drivers that can cause errors. Any of these can keep the video card from functioning properly. Usually a driver update will fix the problem. Also the method of installation of the drivers has to be right to get a proper install.

Good Luck!

Mike
